RESUMES
An actress, singer and director, Suzanne is an ensemble member of American Theater Company where she was seen in "The Hairy Ape," "Two Rooms," "A Lie of the Mind," "The Threepenny Opera," and "One Day Only." She appeared in "The Knight Of The Burning Pestle" and "The Shoemakers' Holiday" at Chicago Shakespeare, directed by Bernie Sahlins. In the fall of 2002, she played Stella in Carson Grace Becker's wonderful new play "Book of Mercy" at Chicago Dramatists.
She is currently directing and hosting "The Night Owls; A Celebration of Cabaret" on Friday Nights at 10:30 through May and "Hoagy, Mel and Cole: CabarATC Celebrates Midwest Composers of The Great American Songbook." at American Theater Company on Wednesday, May 12 at 7:30 pm.
She recently performed her seventh Cabaret show at Davenport's “Songs Of Love and Other Delights” with Musical Director Bob Moreen. Her previous show, "A Marvellous Party" with Alan Bukowiecki was chosen best of 2003 by Cabaret Hotline Online, and her live CD is now on sale!
She produced and directed and sang in "All That sexy jazzy Cabaret; The Music of Kander and Ebb," "That Old Bilbao Moon, A Tribute To Kurt Weill," and "Come On A My House, A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney" at ATC. She performed "I'm Still Here ... I Think" at Davenport's in August 2002.
Suzanne Petri also co-produced and performed at Chicago Cabaret Professionals 2003 Gala at Maxim's and the Summer Gala 2002 at the Royal George. She is the president and a founder of CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals). She has co-produced and performed in "A Holiday Cabaret" which benefits Teen Living Programs , for the last 5 years. She appeared in "The Snow Palace" for SummerNITE and "Tiny Island" at Next Theatre.
Other roles include Titania and Hippolyta in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Solange in "Follies," Madame Hortense in "Zorba," (Jeff nomination), Malvolio in "Twelfth Night," Lorraine Sheldon in "The Man Who Came to Dinner," Bunny in "The House of Blue Leaves," Desiree in "A Little Night Music" and Madame Mantalini in "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickelby."
Suzanne was a 2000 Cabaret Fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. Her film and TV work includes "Just Visiting," "Milwaukee, Minnesota," "Brother 2," and "Penniless; One Man's Crusade" "Early Edition" and "Evil Has A Face."
